Added Care for Critically-Ill Patients
Is the patient's privacy maintained?
The MaineHealth VitalNetwork is part of the MaineHealth patient care team. It follows the same strict rules regarding privacy. Only people involved in the patient’s care can see the patient’s information. Other ways we protect privacy:
• The information is sent to the command center over high-speed, secure phone lines. It is not sent over the internet. • The information is scrambled (or “encrypted”) so it cannot be viewed while being sent. • No recording is made when the camera and microphone are on. • Access to the command center
is securely controlled.
How does the Command Center communicate with doctors and nurses in another location?
Why does the MaineHealth VitalNetwork mean better care?
