Aquatic Therapy is an exercise program performed in water. The buoyancy and resistance provided by water helps strengthen muscles with less stress on joints. By using a multi-depth pool and warm water, aquatic therapy promotes muscle relaxation, muscle strengthening and increased blood flow to injured areas. Aquatic therapy may be appropriate for the following:
- pediatric patients
- patients with orthopedic injuries
- patients with neurological conditions
- patients with cardiopulmonary problems
